Jeff Coffin w/ CWU Jazz I & TRYJO
Jeff Coffin is an internationally recognized saxophonist, bandleader, composer and educator and has been traveling the globe since the late 20th Century. He is a 3x Grammy Award winner from Bela Fleck & the Flecktones and played with them from 1997-2010. In July 2008, Jeff began touring with Dave Matthews Band, and officially joined the group in 2009 following the tragic passing of founding member LeRoi Moore.
Jeff will be joined onstage by the award winning Central Washington University Jazz I, under the direction of Chris Bruya. Jazz I has toured internationally with great acclaim and recently performed at the Monterey Jazz after placing first in national competition for the honor. CWU Jazz I is noted for its forward-looking modern jazz sound.
TRYJO, the Two Rivers Youth Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Jeffrey Smith will also be joining Coffin onstage. TRYJO is an all-city youth ensemble & non-profit, giving serious students from area high schools opportunities to play with and learn from some of the biggest names in jazz music.
