Seattle Girls' Choir Cabaret!
Please join Seattle Girls' Choir for Cabaret. A festive evening of live music, drinks, abundant cocktail nibbles, dessert dash, and more - all to benefit Seattle Girls' Choir.
The evening's program will feature performances by SGC alumnae and singer/songwriters Amanda Taylor and Erin McNamee as well as Prime Voci. Emceed by SGC parent and KIRO-7 reporter Jeff Dubois.
Amanda Taylor - In high school, she began taking music courses at Pierce College, singing in the college's distinguished vocal jazz group Farwest Jazz. She was also accepted into the Grammy Jazz Ensembles. One of eight students selected from the USA, she was flown to Los Angeles to perform throughout Grammy week. Amanda is currently the lead soprano in Seattle-based professional vocal group Groove for Thought, and continues to work on her career in Nashville, TN. See more at: http://amandataylorkunz.com/
Erin McNamee - Erin studied classical voice and folk acoustic guitar starting at age 10. As a young singer-songwriter, Erin starting performing as a solo artist at the age of 16. Erin graduated Suma Cum Laude from Cornish with a Bachelor of Music degree where her artistic interests varied greatly. She continued to practice classical singing, Gregorian chant, Renaissance Baroque, Classical, Romantic through Modern era Opera, European and American cabaret music, art songs, French chansons, jazz, blues, and music theater. She continued composing original songs during these years. Also throughout college, Erin kept up her research and practice in the Irish song tradition. Prime Voci - under the direction of Jacob Winkler, is our most senior level choir and is recognized for its vocal excellence nationally and internationally. The choir regularly collaborates with other Seattle area arts organizations and performs both nationally and internationally. For the Cabaret, Prime Voci will feature more of the "fun" songs from the repertoire they are taking on tour to the Baltic countries this summer.
