Areni Agbabian
Join musician and singer, Areni Agbabian, in an evening of new solo works for voice, piano and percussion. Arena's solo debut album, "Kissybag," a collection of intimate and ethereal improved songs, received critical acclaim from the NY Times and from Jazz Magazine of France. Since then, Areni has continued her work on improvisation, composition and traditional music. In 2015, she received a grant from the Gulbenkian Foundation to work with Aram Kerovpyan, a mastersinger of Armenian Liturgical chant. Incorporating traditional music, stories and folklore of her cultural background has been the focus of her most recent work.
