Colorworks + The Echo Echo Echoes
Doors 7:30 Show 8, All Ages
A melodic pop drama with distinctive harmonies and sunny guitar driven orchestrations. They've got The Zombies energy, Byrds tone and Kinks attitude without sounding like a hollow homage. Seattle songwriting duo Bret Dylan and Nick Myette formed an awkward 60's boy band duet early 2014. Filling out the sound with childhood friend Andrew Ginn they recorded Joyla Reda jangly psych pop EP which sounds like some lost Elephant 6 record with groovy melodies, catchy piano hooks and neatly panned guitars. David Easton, the newest member came off a cruise ship playing jazz for tarantulas and carries a wealth of potential for Colorworks. Right now they are gigging around the Northwest and gearing up to release their new single: Dreams of Mangoes, a meditation on riding bikes, daydreaming and buying fruit from the farmers market. "On 'Paris, You Take Care' Colorworks cross over into the jangly piano pop of Rubber Soul era Beatles. The tune is particularly catchy for many reasons. First is the instrumentation, which brings in a bouncy piano riff that flows along so well with simple but effective drumming style that Ringo made so popular. The second being the brilliant harmonies, which accompany the melody, making "Paris, You Take Care" an instantly head-bobbing hummable pop tune. - The Even Underground
Drawing on sixties doo-wop, modern surf, and driving classic rock influences, The Echo Echo Echoes sound the way being 7 years old and eating an otter pop on the 4th of July feels.
