A Concert in Celebration of Black History Month
DePauw University Chorus and Jazz Combos Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. Green Center, Kresge Auditorium
The DePauw School of Music invites the community to Kresge Auditorium on Tuesday, February 23 for a concert in celebration of Black History Month, coordinated by faculty members Kristina Boerger, director of University Choirs, and Steve Snyder, director of the DePauw Jazz Ensemble. Among the music to be performed will be works by Black Sacred Music giant Charles Albert Tindley, pioneering African American classical and jazz composers, and a new arrangement of Birmingham Sunday, a poetic retelling of the 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church.
General admission: $3 Tickets for seniors, youth and all students are free.
