OPAL and You Can Play Night at 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are teaming up with You Can Play and Out Philadelphia Athletic League ("OPAL") for an LGBT "You Can Play Night" on March 29, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are only $16 with $5 going to the OPAL League of your choice. This promises to be a fun and exciting night of basketball for our community and leagues.
You Can Play works to insure the safety and inclusion of all in sports - including LGBT athletes, coaches and fans.
OPAL is a nonprofit sport and social group for the sports leagues in the Greater Philadelphia Metropolitan area that focus their activities within the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. Special emphasis is placed on assisting leagues with operations, assisting players in attending all national and international sporting events, including but not limited to the Gay Games, and assisting in furthering the development of cross sport social interaction. OPAL is a program of the William Way Community Center (http://waygay40.org/).
In addition,join the folks from The Welcoming Committee for a pre-game party starting at 5:30pm at Xfinity Live (1100 Pattison Ave). Your ticket to the game also scores you a wristband good for drink specials, and the opportunity to meet and mingle with other LGBTQs prior to the game.
