Montreal Wen-Do Women's Self-Defence Course
Wen-Do is Canada's longest-running self-defence organization by-and-for women! Since 1972 we have been bringing powerful self-defence training to women and girls just like you!
This 2-Saturday course is a combination of conversation-style mini-workshops and verbal and physical self-defence training. Participants will look at a wide variety of scenarios including stranger and known attackers, weapons self-defence, gang and swarming scenarios and ground-and-bed self-defence.
All course content is designed to be effective when defending yourself against a physically larger and stronger attacker. All course content can be modified to suit you and your body - no gym membership necessary.
Just like First Aid, we hope that you never have to use these skills. Just in case you do, it is good to have a well-stocked mental toolbox.
Shailagh is a compassionate, intuitive self-defence instructor who uses humour and storytelling to help you (re-)write your narratives and stories of success! By using each other as inspiration you are invited in this course to embody your greater power.
This course is not just about learning a few moves. It is a holistic course that is designed to welcome your whole self and leave you feeling more powerful than ever before. As one participant wrote, "You made us all feel at ease. I did not anticipate how much self worth this workshop would stir up for me. This was so needed for me. Thank you so much!"
Space is very limited for this 2-Saturday complete self-defence course, so register soon to avoid disappointment! The course will be held in a beautiful second-floor loft near Metro Beaudry. Please note that the course content is wheelchair accessible. However, the location is not.
Shailagh is enthusiastic to have traveled around the western hemisphere and to come back to Montreal to offer this important training. Check out her website here: http://shailaghkeaney.ca and don't hesitate to get in touch!
