WHAT IS THE SHOW ABOUT? WELL HERE IS A SYNOPSIS!
Better off wed or dead? Get ready to laugh out loud as Casey Dressler ponders this question in her critically acclaimed, one-woman show, The Wedding Warrior. Inspired by Dressler's own experiences as a wedding coordinator, The Wedding Warrior is told by Dressler's fictional alter-ego, Casey, a 30-something, single woman in the bridal industry who earns her living and plenty of gray hairs attempting to combat the mayhem and mishaps that lead up to matrimony. Dressler hilariously inhabits multiple characters in this slice of life piece about love, relationships, and the crazy people with whom we cross paths, forever changing our own journey.
Edinburgh Fringe Review
"Dressler's The Wedding Warrior is full of sparky dialogue that wouldn't feel out of place in a Holllywood romcom. It follows a wedding planner looking for love while dealing with eccentric guests' mad behaviour. The Cinderella story, innovatively retold by one a Latino lady is a highlight. Imaginatively directed by Kim St Leon, The Wedding Warrior has that American gloss that British writers sometimes struggle with and a fun, mainstream tone that seems effortless, but actually takes a lot of skill."
Fort Lauderdale Fringe Reviews
"The Wedding Warrior: This was easily my best of the fest. Casey Dressler's solo show based on her experiences as a single, love-shy wedding coordinator in the Keys, is a gem. Dressler portrays more than a dozen characters, including a Cuban, weed-smoking cigar roller; a stern, detail-oriented mother-of-the-bride; a maid of honor with food issues; a low-key busboy; and a southernism-spouting hotel clerk. Using a wedding to reexamine her beliefs about love, life and relationships, Dressler's play has heart, soul and lots and lots of laughs. If you ever get a chance to see it, go." -Fringe Binge, Mary Damiano (MaryDamiano.com)
"Funny, Touching, Sweet. Beautifully written and acted. A perfect Fringe show! Don't miss it!" -Christine Dolen (The Miami Herald)
