WTS Career Development Program: Focus on Communication and Conflict Resolution
Have you ever wondered how different behavioral styles influence communication? Are you looking for new skills to resolve conflict in the workplace? Please join the WTS Puget Sound Chapter for a luncheon focused on these two important topics. The session will include an examination of the patterns and characteristics of the four behavior styles, tips for how to adjust your approach to communicate more effectively, and a focus on two key skills to resolve conflict. The program will be led by Judy Clarke, an organizational development consultant with more than 30 years of experience in facilitating partnering sessions, leadership retreats, problem-solving meetings, and organizational conflict mediations. At the luncheon, you'll also have a chance to eat and network with our speakers and other transportation professionals.
When: Friday, March 4, 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Where: WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff 999 Third Avenue, Suite 3200 Seattle, WA 98104
Cost: $12 for public agency staff, $17 for WTS members and $22 for non-members (plus Brown Paper Tickets service fee). Ticket price includes the cost of lunch. Please RSVP by purchasing your ticket through Brown Paper Tickets (insert link here) no later than Wednesday March 2, 2016.

Let's Embrace Diversity! To highlight diversity in Transportation, WTS Puget Sound is pleased to announce the 2016 WTS Embrace Diversity campaign. The challenge will begin at the January 2016 program in Tacoma and will continue at each monthly program through June 2016. During this time, we invite our members to add diversity to our monthly lunch programs by bringing an eligible guest, which is someone who works in transportation in a different discipline or role than that of the WTS member. Each participating member and guest will be entered to win a $10 Starbucks gift card; the winning team will be announced at the end of each program. To learn more about the campaign and additional incentives, please contact Josephine Bayan at josephine.bayan@pmsvs.com or Amanda Thom at athom@HNTB.com.
