Sweater Funk is proud to present the king of boogie Leroy Burgess at the Elbo Room! This will a live P.A. performance and Leroy's second performance with the Sweater Funk DJ crew! This is a man whose name remains relatively unknown to most music fans but whose influence on dance music as we know it was felt by many a dancer. A quick flip through any of our record bags at Sweater Funk should reveal a number of records recorded by Leroy under different names like Convertion's "Let's Do it", Logg's "I Know You Will" or The Universal Robot Band's "Barely Breaking Even" which inspired the name of the successful British label BBE. You might find dancefloor staples like Fonda Rae's "Over Like A Fat Rat", Phreek's "Weekend', Black Ivory's "Mainline" & "Don't Turn Around", Aleem's "Get Loose" or Caprice's "100%" which are all floor fillers because of the vocal talents and/or songwriting prowess of one man, Mr. Leroy Burgess, the king of boogie! Come celebrate the man and the sound he created with San Francisco's foremost authorities on the matter, Sweater Funk!
