Champagne and oysters go hand in hand. What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with a local take on this classic pairing?
Join Slow Food NYC for a talk and tasting as you sample four sparkling wines from NY state paired with a dozen of the freshest local oysters. Learn the characteristics of each wine and how sparkling wines are made, plus hear about the unique flavor profile of each oyster and find out how oysters are grown and harvested. You'll try wines from Brooklyn Oenology and Sparkling Pointe, along with two or three different varieties of local oysters provided by W&T Seafood.
TJ Provenzano from Brooklyn Oenology and Nellie Wu from W&T Seafood will be leading the discussion.
Proceeds from this event support the programs of Slow Food NYC, including the Urban Harvest program of good food education for NYC kids at schools in the South Bronx, Harlem, Lower East Side, and Brooklyn, as well as a summer urban farm in Brooklyn.
