Often I Find That I Am Naked
The Canadian premier of an Australian play with the enticing moniker Often I Find That I Am Naked, penned by Adelaide playwright Fiona Sprott and directed by Eva Hamburg, will be presented at "The Courts" in Riverdale by Yukon's newest professional theatre company, Larrikin Entertainment Ensemble.
"Naked" is an insanely hilarious, sometimes ridiculous, frighteningly poignant investigation into the life of an eminently likeable, wildly successful, chronically single career woman - Jezebel.
We follow Jezebel's madcap misadventures through a series of high-octane monologues as she navigates the treacherous waters of the single's scene, and finds herself in a vast array of devastatingly bizarre encounters with a seemingly endless string of male suitors, using various life aids such as excessive alcohol consumption, social anxiety, gynecological inappropriateness and auto-induced starvation (just to name a few). Jezebel drinks, thrusts and charms her way into date after disastrously hilarious date searching for the ever-elusive love factor.
Part play, part stand-up comedy, part confession; featuring the undisputable talents of Douglas Mayr, Katherine McCallum and Jeremiah Kitchen; Often I Find That I Am Naked will leave you laughing (and possibly cringing) long after you've left the theatre!
