K-8 Teacher Institute:Writing and Reasoning in Science with the Common Core
This 5 day, FLEET INQUIRY INSTITUTE is a SAN DIEGO SCIENCE PROJECT program open to Fleet Inquiry Institute alumni and all interested K-8 teachers in San Diego County.
COST: $30 or $50 for team of 3
INCLUDES: breakfast, refreshments, snacks, books, and access to the Fleet Science Center, the Museum of Photographic Arts (MoPA), and San Diego Natural History Museum!
Explore key components of the Common Core in English Language Arts and how science can be integrated into curriculum
Learn new strategies to connect Science and English language development to increase student writing in science
Integrate a Scientific Explanation Framework into your current science curriculum
Collaborate with other K-8 teachers interested in learning more about student writing and reasoning in science during grade band breakout sessions.
