A SHAKESPEARE VALENTINE and THE HARLEM RENAISSANCE
Forty-nine sonnets form a series of two person scenes with four men and four women acting out the lives of five couples, four straight and one gay. After an intermission the same actors act out stories and poems of eight writers from the Harlem Renaissance. The total result is an exciting evening of live theater. "This is a wonderfully enjoyable project with a meaningful message to our audiences: Shakespeare and the Harlem Renaissance writers belong to everyone, and everyone means all actors and all audiences."
