Willie lovingly remembers his home state for what it is: a playground for human ignorance, bureaucratic failure, and bad weatherboth defiant of popular imagination and deeply reflective of it. In this solo performance, he assembles a collage of popular myth and personal narrative on stage using storytelling, dance, and video. See the light. Drink from the fountain. Get there first.
Meet Willie:
Willie Filkowski is a writer/performer living in Chicago. He has a BFA in Interarts Performance from the University of Michigan. He's happiest when making new performances with his smarter & more talented accomplices. He wears a lot of gray and hopes to one day become a Wiemaraner. www.filkowski.com
