BRIEF SYNOPSIS:

Pumps & Pipes is an association of Medical, Energy, Aerospace, Academic and Community professionals and leaders. Founded in 2007, our core essentials are Education, Communication and Collaboration. Its guiding principle to problem solving is exploring "The Other Guy's Toolkit".

SPEAKER'S BIOGRAPHY:

Stephen R. Igo is Director of the Entrepreneurial Institute and CardioDesign Laboratory, and Co-Director of the Pumps & Pipes Program at the Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center (MDHVC), and is Senior Associate at the Methodist Research Institute. His responsibilities include development of innovative proprietary technologies that address unmet medical needs by integrating and applying the broad expertise of MDHVC physicians and researchers in the fields of cardiovascular surgery, cardiovascular imaging, and interventional cardiology.

Mr. Igo received his training in Cardiopulmonary and Perfusion Technology at National Naval Medical Center and Research Institute, Bethesda, Maryland. He has held research and clinical support positions with the Texas Heart Institute and Baylor College of Medicine. Mr. Igo is Co-Founder and former President of CardioVascular Research and Development, Inc. (CVR&D). CVR&D conducted preclinical testing of cardiovascular devices for medical product companies. He is Co-Founder and former President of Cormedics Corporation, a Texas Life Science company. Mr. Igo has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed scientific articles and is the co-inventor on 21 issued and pending national and international patents.
