Slow Dining Adventure: w/Bill Niman at Country Gourmet, Sunnyvale
Please join Slow Food South Bay by starting off the new year with a special "Slow Dining Adventure" at Country Gourmet in Sunnyvale.
We will dine with rancher, visionary, idealist, activist, Bill Niman of BN Ranch.
Nicknamed the "Godfather of Natural Beef," Bill Niman began supplying meat from carefully raised animals to restaurants and retail stores in the 1970s.
Long-time supporter and friend, chef Jimmy Connors serves the high-quality BN Ranch beef and turkey at the Country Gourmet.
THE MENU, by chef Jimmy, is a fabulous 3-course meal, paired with wine, including vegetables from nearby Full Circle Farm:
Winter Salad: Full Circle Farm kale and organic chicories with braised BN Ranch turkey, dried cherries, Humboldt Fog goat cheese, blood orange, and Pedro Ximenez Vinaigrette
Main: Burgundy pomegranate braised BN Ranch boneless beef shank, Garbanzo laced creamy polenta, King of Mushrooms' chef's mix, Full Circle Farm rainbow chard, Bloomsdale spinach, with watermelon radish and horseradish.
Dessert: Sticky Toffee Pudding with Pixie mandarin zest, with Meyer lemon Creme Anglaise, and butterscotch.
$80, all inclusive: ~ a 3-course gourmet meal (organic veggies, free-range turkey, grass-fed beef) ~ wine ~ tax and gratuity ~ a $5 contribution to Slow Food South Bay
