Announcing the first installment of GetClassical's Salon series at the newly renovated Yamaha Studio on East 54th Street off Fifth Avenue.

Like few of his generation, pianist David Kaplan shows fervor for intricate exploration at the piano. Praised for his "grace and fire" by the Boston Globe, and by The New York Times for "striking imagination and creativity," the recent recipient of Yale's Doctorate of Musical Arts, revels especially in connecting past and present: "There should be bridges between new music and traditional concert music. It's important to demonstrate the connections that legitimately exist between pieces written today and pieces written yesterday."
His enthusiasm for the Zeitgeist of music results in the premiere of many works, by his contemporaries. As a member of the New York-based Metropolis, Le Train Bleu, Decoda, and ACJW Ensembles, David has performed frequently in New York's most exciting venues, from Zankel Hall to Le Poisson Rouge. Since 2011, Kaplan is Co-Artistic Director of Lyrica Chamber Music, a New Jersey concert series now in its twenty-sixth season.
