Minnesota-based Room and Board is committed to making quality furniture using sustainable materials without the use of toxic flame retardants and other chemicals of concern.
Come meet key legislators, community advocates, and fire fighters who were essential to the passing of this bill, and to learn about local businesses like Room and Board who are already making furniture without toxic flame retardants to meet consumer and regulatory demand. About Our Speakers:
Steve Freeman is the Vendor Resource Manager for Room & Board, where he sources manufacturers and works with them on compliance and environmental/sustainability issues. Steve also serves as President of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, an industry organization bringing awareness and education to the Home Furnishings Industry since 2005.
Kathleen Schuler is Healthy Kids and Families Program Director at Conservation Minnesota, where she also serves as of Co-Director of Healthy Legacy, a Minnesota coalition focused on safer products and safer production methods. She is the co-founder of the Minnesota Green Chemistry Forum.
