Healthy Cooking Foundation Series of Classes
Master the basics of whole-food, organic cooking while learning new culinary techniques and styles. In each class, we will explore a different category of whole foods. You will be given information about how these foods are grown or raised, how they are processed for human consumption, as well as traditional and modern preparation techniques. After understanding the journey from nature to the point of purchase, we take the food to the table by preparing three recipes.
- Fresh Produce - Thursday, March 24 - 6-7:30 p.m.
This event will use produce from Suzie's Farm, a 70-acre USDA-certified organic farm located 13 miles south of downtown San Diego. A farm representative will join us to talk about organic growing practices.
- Healthy Fats and Oils - Thursday, April 21 - 6-7:30 p.m.
- Whole Grains - Thursday, May 19 - 6-7:30 p.m.
- Powerful Plant Proteins - Thursday, June 23 - 6-7:30 p.m.
- Animal Proteins - Thursday, July 21 - 6-7:30 p.m.
- Sugar Alternatives - Thursday, August 18 - 6-7:30 p.m.
All ingredients and materials are included in the class fees. Attendees will receive generous samples and printed recipes to take home. Class size limited to 25 people. Classes are $40 each (take one class or as many classes as you like) or sign-up for the series of six classes for only $200!
