The Jocelyn Pettit Band
Hailing from the West Coast of British Columbia, Jocelyn Pettit is a vibrant fiddle player, stepdancer, singer and composer. Dynamic and lively, traditional and contemporary, upbeat and brilliantly fun music. From Celtic to Québécois and beyond, Jocelyn leads The Jocelyn Pettit Band, with her beloved fiddle, Canadian stepdance, podorythmie foot rhythms, and vocals.
With a goal to lift spirits and provide enjoyment for people of all ages, The Jocelyn Pettit Band has been performing since 2004, at many community festivals, special events and celebrations, concerts, and private functions.
West Coast Canadian, award-nominated touring group The Jocelyn Pettit Band, bring their Celtic and Canadian folk music to Snohomish for a lively concert at Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater. Led by energetic fiddler, stepdancer, and singer, Jocelyn Pettit, the band has brought their blazing "New-Trad Celtic" music to audiences worldwide. Pettit has performed on Canadian national television and radio, earned multiple Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, and shared the stage with the likes of Irish supergroup, The Chieftains!
Having recently released a new album, titled "Caravan", Pettit and her band have been on the road, including some show dates in Washington. Pettit also recently performed with Seattle-based group, Magical Strings, for their 37th Annual Celtic Yuletide Concert Tour throughout Washington and Oregon.
With blazing-to-soulful fiddling, Cape Breton stepdancing, and vocals - backed by piano, guitar, and bodhran this Snohomish show will be an upbeat and fun evening of music, song, and dance. Accompaniment will be provided by Pettit's parents, Siew Wan Khoo (piano, fiddle), and Joel Pettit (bodhrán, cajon) and Dublin-born, Seattle-based multi-instrumentalist Colm MacCárthaigh (guitar).
