Ham and Sherry
Since antiquity Spaniards have produced dry-cured hams. The first written references date back to the Roman Empire. Historically speaking, fresh ham was cured in mountainous areas with moderate climates that are warm and dry in the summer and cold in the winter. Mountain, or "sierra" (serrano), air favored gradual aging of the meat.
Sherry also has a long history in Spain, serving the likes of Christopher Columbus to Shakespeare, and has recently been gaining new ground in the wine world for its unique flavors and food-friendly behavior. Sherry wines, for ages one of the most tradition-bound, staid wines in the world, are surging in popularity.
Now we are bringing Spanish jamón down from the mountains, and Sherry wines from Andalucia straight to you in St. Louis.
Join us for a celebration of "Ham and Sherry", a unique four-course gourmet tasting experience that pairs flavorful hams with Sherry based cocktails.
