Frank Lee
Frank Lee grew up in rural Georgia hearing fiddle and banjo music; both his grandfathers were banjo players. After playing bluegrass as a teenager, he moved to western North Carolina and started playing old time frailing styles. Since 1991 his rhythmic, percussive style has been a driving force behind the Freight Hoppers, one of the most popular string bands on the bluegrass/old time music circuit. Their appearances at festivals, dances and concerts, as well as their CDs for Rounder Records, have gained them an avid following throughout the US and abroad.
