Sketch Sketch Writing Patrick Rowland Focus on writing scenes that incorporate characters or style of play Puts the performer in ideal situations to be successful Discussion of different styles of sketch writing There is a writing assignment every week that will be acted out in the following week's class. Class is followed by a sketch show Lab limited to 10-12 performers /Cost $150
The Playground Training Center is dedicated to helping comedians to grow as performers, writers, directors, producers, and individuals. We are committed to helping our students find their voice, promote their strengths, build their confidence, all through exploration and discovery. We aim to effectively teach the core techniques of comedy in a supportive guided environment.
Each term includes a variety of classes for multiple ages and experience levels from beginners to professionals. Class will meet once a week for 2 hours. All classes will run for 6 weeks excluding holidays. Level 4 will run four weeks only followed by shows.

Class is followed by shows Class size limited to 14 students / Cost $150 Pre-reqs: Level 1 __________ PIEP Playground Improv Ensemble Play Ollie Hobson Focus on group dynamic and game Forms that encourage group scenes Develops the 'give and take' to make group scenes successful Class is followed by shows Class size limited to 14 students/ Cost $150 Pre-reqs: None ____________ PIP Playground Improv Pro's 4 Week Class Patrick Rowland Understand who you are as an improviser Develop your strengths and learn how to use them to your advantage Geared toward the experienced improviser looking to stay on their game Class is followed by a run of shows Class size limited to 14 students / Cost $100 Pre-reqs: None _____________ Acting Acting for Improv - Lorena Diaz Explore components of acting: body & voice, improvisational exercises, basic script analysis and audition technique Use Polar Action to make quick, active, positive choices The class is based mainly upon an "Adaptive Technique" Will discover a more truthful impulse, emphasizing imagination and behaving honestly in every moment. _______ Solo Solo Sketch Comedy - Matt Barbera- Designed to help sketch comedy writers develop solo sketch comedy pieces. Focuses on who you are as a performer. Showcases the range of characters you can play. Helps build a one person show or showcase to prepare yourself for auditions or meetings with casting directors and agents. The class also gives stage time for solo performers at The Playground Solo Sketch Comedy Show- Happy Hour. Class is limited to 12 performers/ Cost $225
