Caveman
Brooklyn, New York's Caveman just recently finished a national headliner tour in support of their first album, CoCo Beware out on Fat Possum Records. With a guitar and percussion driven sound that contains elements reminiscent of indie contemporaries like Band Of Horses, Grizzly Bear, and Real Estate, Caveman manages to deliver earthy reverb-drenched pop songs that remain distinctly New York in feel. At a Caveman show you will hear four-part harmonies, spaced-out guitars, synths, and, yes, much drumming.
2011 was a banner year for the band, having shared the stage with acts such as Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes, White Rabbits, Here We Go Magic, Cursive, Amazing Baby, and Blue Oyster Cult, among others. They also turned in critically acclaimed performances at both CMJ in the fall of 2011 (where they played an incredible 10 shows) and SxSW this past spring. Both NPR and Stereogum had Caveman on their Best New Band lists for 2011.
