The duo of Laurence Yadi & Nicolas Cantillon make up one of the Switzerland's most respected companies. Compagnie 7273 has produced some ten productions, two films and several artistic collaborations since 2003, including the recent staging of new choreography of Stravinsky's Petrouchka for the Ballet Company of the Geneva Opera House in October 2011. The group piece Nilein (January 2011) earned Compagnie 7273 the Swiss Dance & Choreography Award of 2011. This tour is sponsored by The Swiss Consulate of San Francisco, Pro Helvetia - Swiss Arts Council, City of Geneva & Republic and Canton of Geneva.
Richard Bishop is an improviser, composer, and an intrepid explorer on electric and acoustic guitar whose work often reflects the shadow worlds of India, the Middle East, North Africa, and other points along the Gypsy trail. Richard is perhaps best known as a founding member (along with brother Alan Bishop) of experimental ethnic-improv pioneers and underground tricksters Sun City Girls, who for nearly 30 years have produced an extensive discography of over 50 full length albums, 20 one-hour cassettes and a dozen 7" records. Sun City Girls formed in 1981 after the Bishop brothers' stint in the group Paris 1942 which also featured J. Akkari and former Velvet Underground drummer Moe Tucker.
