ARCO does the B's--PORTLAND (All Ages)
ARCO does the B's--Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms--but like you've never experienced before! Blistering fast tempos. Body-shaking bass. Bad-ass lighting. Founding member Daniel Shen joins us as soloist on the Bach A minor, while Bryce and Mike duel it out on the Bach Double. Also featuring works by living composers Tom Johnson, Jacob TV, and Mike Hsu, and an opening set by percussionist and jazz drummer Kaleb Davies.
ARCO-PDX brings you classical orchestral and chamber music with a 21st century attitude. Amplified so you can talk, laugh, drink, dance...just like you would at a rock concert. Yet performing each piece exactly as written--no watered-down arrangements, no cheap rhythm track--out of respect for the composers and the audience. Top if off with sound-responsive visuals for an unforgettable, multimedia concert experience!
