January 2016 LAI Luncheon
Market Outlook 2016 Is it Time to Begin Defensive Strategies? 2015 proved to be another banner year for growth in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as other major coastal and tech markets. Now in its seventh year of growth, the US economy continues to generate significant employment gains and attract flows of investment capital. Steady improvement in market conditions and a historically low interest rate environment have made real estate particularly attractive to both foreign and domestic investors, driving yields to new lows and encouraging many to take on more risk. While the sky holds few clouds today, a handful of noted investors have recently gone on record predicting a US a downturn within the next few years. Real estate is a long term investment. Should we be devising defensive strategies to prepare for the inevitable next recession?
Please join a conversation between Alan Billingsley and Eileen Marrinan, who will address these questions and their implications for investment opportunities over the coming year. Eileen focuses on guiding Grosvenor Americas' strategic investment decisions for its substantial portfolio of real estate assets in the US and Canada. Alan Billingsley is former Head of Americas Research at RREEF (now Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management) and currently manages his own real estate investments. Reserve your tickets now before the holidays are upon us.
Be sure to add the luncheon into your calendar!
