WALKER KONG Record Release Show
Walker Kong has been making "brilliantly smart and tuneful indie pop music" since their exuberant inception back in 1998. Over the years the band has pushed its widescreen sound, boy/girl harmony driven melodies and reverence for pastoral arrangements to new heights. This intimate Bryant Lake Bowl show will see the band playing songs from their enduring 12 year catalog to celebrate the release of their newest album "Phazes of Light." Local masters of atmospheric pop, Prissy Clerks, will open.

Prissy Clerks are 2012's Vita.Mn's Are You Local/Best New Band Contest, comprised of members of Total Babe, Red Pens, Wolf Mountain and Teenage Strangler. This new group formed in the fall of 2011 will remind you of bands like the Breeders and Pavement with their 90's guitar duels and breathy vocals by singer Clara Salyer. The band's secret weapon may just be the accordion player Emily Lazear adding just the right amount of drone and extra pep to their already original sound.
