Young Agrarians 3rd Okanagan Winter Mixer
OKANAGAN MIXER! Celebrate winter with a young farmer social in Kelowna, BC! We're bringing together as many beginning and young(ish) farmers, as well as friends and foodies for a day of workshops and networking.
SATURDAY MIXER SCHEDULE
8:30-9:00am: Breakfast Snacks & Coffee
9:00-10am: Networking with Young Agrarians Coordinator Sara Dent
10:00-10:15am: BREAK
10:15/10:30-12:00pm: One Acre Farm Set Up on Leased Land Ian Hart (1 hr) - Clubhouse Farm & Outdoor Preschool - Audrey Hystad (30 min)
10:15/10:30-12:00pm: Indigenous Food Lands - Nicholas Peterson
1:30-3pm: Water Harvesting/Drought Proofing/Keyline - Javan Bernakevitch
1:30-3pm: Women In Agro-Ecology Panel
3-3:15pm: BREAK
3:15-4:45pm: Management-Intensive Grazing - Tristan Banwell & Dan Denesiuk
3:15-4:45pm: Farm Business Planning - Chris Bodnar
4:45-6:00pm: World Cafe / Open Space including a marketing session with Moss Dance & John Hofer, covering social media, collective marketing, and niche marketing for restaurants and CSA's.
6-9pm Potluck & Social: Friends & Family Welcome! Bring a dish to share and tools to eat with :)
VENUE We'll be gathering at Okanagan Mission Community Hall, 4409 Lakeshore Road, Kelowna, BC.
FOOD We will be providing an ecologically, locally and certified organically (as much as possible) grown lunch thanks to love from our sponsors: Joy Road Catering and Urban Harvest. Saturday dinner will be a community potluck. Please invite family and friends, and bring a dish to share and tools to eat with (plate, utensils, water bottle, cup).

TICKETS The ticket cost is sliding scale and covers expenses to make this event possible. We are asking for contributions between $25 to $75. Folk are also welcome to make a contribution at the door.
