Dr. Dacher Keltner: The Science of the Meaningful Life / May 10, 2016 / Las Positas College
DACHER KELTNER is a professor of psychology at UC Berkeley, faculty director of the Berkeley Greater Good Science Center, and director of the Berkeley Social Interactions Lab.
Dr. Keltner is an outstanding speaker and researcher whose work is at the forefront of a new scientific movement that explores the roots of kindness, gratitude and compassion, and teaches us the skills that can foster a happier, more meaningful life and a thriving, resilient, and more compassionate society.
Based on the latest scientific discoveries from fields of psychology, neuroscience and health, Dr. Keltner will present a fascinating and inspiring exploration of the science of happiness and the pursuit of the meaningful life. Dr. Keltner is the author of the forthcoming book, The Power of Paradox (May,2016), and the best-selling author of Born to Be Good: The Science of the Meaningful Life, and The Compassionate Instinct. He has also authored more than 100 scientific papers and two textbooks, Social Psychology, and Understanding Emotions.
He has also collaborated on projects at Facebook and Google and was the scientific consultant for Pixar's highly acclaimed animated film Inside Out for which he helped revise the story to accurately reflect the latest scientific Understanding of emotions.

The Las Positas College department of psychology regularly presents world-class speakers and events for students and Tri-Valley residents.
