Going Down!: Beyond Basic Burlesque (Floorwork)

So you've conquered "Introduction to Burlesque" and are now beyond "Burlesque for Beginners" now what? If you're ready to take the next step on your journey to diva-hood, this class is for you! Each 4-week class series will focus on a single topic for in-depth burlesque study. Students will learn more advanced techniques and develop their own burlesque style.

Let's get down and dirty! In this class we'll explore floorwork. Students will learn how to get down to the floor and how to get back up again, classic floorwork moves, traveling, and transitions. We'll also discuss when floorwork is appropriate and how to modify your act for when it isn't. Exercises for strengthening the core (vital for floorwork!) will be included in each class.

We'll be spending a lot of time on the floor, so please bring a yoga mat or towel if you think you will need the extra cushion. Kneepads are recommended.

Classes are Tuesdays, January 12, 19, 26, 7:00-8:00pm.
