DCTV Presents Insuring You and Your Films
co-presented with Fractured Atlas
If there weren't enough things to keep in mind while preparing for your film, the types of insurance that are either required or recommended can seem daunting at best.
In Insuring You and Your Films, you will gain a basic understanding of the types of insurance that are out there for New York filmmakers to take advantage of, including: general liability/production insurance, equipment coverage, errors and omissions insurance, as well as health insurance options, and what changes we can expect should the Affordable Care Act pass intact through the Supreme Court.
PANELISTS:
Emily Gray is the Program Director for Insurance at Fractured Atlas. She educates artists in the peculiarities of insurance coverage and works with insurance companies to develop policies that will address the specific needs of the arts community. Emily holds broker's licenses in property/casualty and life/health insurance and travels regularly to present workshops across the country for artists and arts organizations on insurance, risk management, and emergency preparedness.
Jean Ann Douglass is Fractured Atlas' Program Specialist for Insurance. She has held many positions in the arts in New York, including three years at Joyce SoHo, event producing with The Field and Pentacle, and teaching a course in community-based performance art as an adjunct professor at Brooklyn College. As a director, performance artist, and projection designer, Jean Ann's work can be seen in Off-Broadway theaters, the backs of rental trucks, and many places in between.
