In this workshop, Nancy Klehm and participants will wander through the Ranch Garden site and identify and study the spontaneous vegetation as indicators of soil health and composition as well as their potential use for food and fodder for animals. The workshop will also look at the selection of cultivated food and native plants and some of their multiple functions in the landscape.
This class will be held outdoors and will meet at The Ranch Garden Shade Structure. Attendees MUST wear closed-toed shoes to participate in this workshop.
This workshop is only open to present and past participants of The Huntington Botanical Gardens "Train - the - Trainer" Program. Train-the-Trainer is a grant sponsored course intended as professional development for people actively involved in teaching gardening on a community, education, or professional level.
An email address and attendance year are required to register.
