Hick in the Hood: Michael Sommers
Hick in the Hood is a true-story one-man play, written and performed by San Francisco-based TV, film, radio and stage actor Michael Sommers. It's about a naïve Vermont native, himself, who optimistically buys a house in a scary, notorious neighborhood of west Oakland. It is 90 minutes long and Michael narrates the story, plays over 30 different characters with extensive use of mime, and even sings and plays original blues on his harmonica. Enjoy this touching, funny yet suspenseful, entertaining and uplifting tale of hope and hoods that Sold Out at The Marsh in San Francisco! Hick in the Hood, Sommer's fifth full length play to be produced, has been called "Deeply touching! An evening of delightful entertainment!"(Jim Lowe, Montpelier Times) www.michaelsommers.com. $15 General. Show will start at 3 pm. There will be an intermission with fine refreshments for sale and OCA Art Gallery open for viewing. Cabaret and concert seating. Wheelchair Accessible.
