SPECIAL FUNDRAISER EVENING | MONDAY APRIL 4, 2016
IN SUPPORT OF "THE PHOENIX SINCLAIR Playhouse"
6:30 - 9:30 pm | CANADIAN MUSEUM FOR HUMAN RIGHTS
TICKETS JUST $225.00
On April 4, 2016 at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, a very special fundraising event is planned in support of the "Phoenix Sinclair Playhouse", featuring Emmy Award-winning musician, philanthropist and author Peter Buffet.
The Phoenix Sinclair Playhouse (set to begin construction in 2016) is a child and extended family centred hub designed to meet the mental, physical, spiritual and emotional needs of newborns to 5 year olds and their families. The Playhouse will be a dynamic use facility for North End children and their caregivers/extended families. Through a wide range of activity centres, play areas, toys, books, a child friendly kitchen, resources and programming, and on-site medical professionals, the Playhouse will help build strong, healthy families.
The Playhouse will also serve to commemorate and honour the life of Phoenix Sinclair, a little girl who was murdered under tragic circumstances that demonstrate the need for building strong, healthy families.
"Life is What You Make It, A Concert & Conversation with Peter Buffet", is a live multi-media performance featuring Peter Buffet on piano, and cellist, Michael Kott. It takes the audience on a journey with Peter from his discovery of the piano, to writing music for commercials and film, and then on to how his current philanthropic work with the NoVo Foundation has ultimately influenced his songs and life.
** Net proceeds from this special one-time event will benefit the Phoenix Sinclair Playhouse **
Since 2008, Canadians have witnessed Canada's Residential School Legacy, and the incredible opportunities that Reconciliation holds.
Support for the "Phoenix Sinclair Playhouse" is a meaningful chance to commit to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's first and most important Call To Action - namely, reducing the number of Aboriginal children in the care of child welfare.
