1940's - A small town in Texas, close to the Great River.
Paula dreams of escaping the rural life of the river, but is thwarted by her family and her culture. In the end, the spirit of the River and La Llorona take from her what she loves most - her only daughter.
The legend of La Llorona is known throughout the Americas among most Spanish speaking people. She is a tragic figure, who most believe drowns children in the river.
The opera is in ENGLISH with some phrases in Spanish. 1:20 minutes in duration.
