ABOUT THE TRIO: Vocalist Shannon Gunn, has been recorded on over a dozen CBC radio shows as a featured jazz artist, and her notable West Coast reputation has continued in Toronto, where she has been praised for her "expressive, knowing and intimate voice with a sexy vibrato and rumpled edges, octave leaps and major league versatility, equally comfortable with swing, standards and vocalize." Geoff Chapman, Toronto Star. CBC's Neil Richie (producer, Hot Air) calls her "a singer with an instantly recognizable timbre and an incredibly natural rhythm she is one of the few singers who is a 'complete musician'."
Reg Schwager is a four-time winner of Canada's National Jazz Award for Guitarist of the Year. From 1994-2004, Schwager toured and recorded with master jazz pianist George Shearing, and he has also worked with Diana Krall, Peter Appleyard, Rob McConnell, Emilie-Claire Barlow and many others. He appears on over 100 commercially released recordings including, under his own name, "Resonance," "Border Town", "Chromology" and "Duets". He appears as a co-leader with Don Thompson on the duo CDs "Live at Mezzetta" and "One Take, Volume Three."
Rosemary Galloway is a jazz bassist, composer and band leader based in Toronto. Her credits include engagements with internationally recognized musicians such as Clark Terry, Vic Dickenson, Wild Bill Davison, Buddy Tate, Jay McShann, Jake Hanna, Warren Vache, Spanky Davis, Doc Cheatham, and many others. Canadian artists include Jim Galloway, Terry Clarke, Ingrid Jensen, Lorraine Desmarais, Jane Bunnett, Pat LaBarbera, Norman Amadio, Kathryn Moses, and Tabby Johnson. She has composed for and recorded with her own groups The Swing Sisters, Velvet Glove, The Jane Fair/ Rosemary Galloway Quintet, and Jim Galloway's Wee Big Band. Recent projects include musical director and arranger for The Priscilla Wright Big Band, composing and arranging works for symphony orchestra and jazz soloists, and her most recent CD as leader "Live at the Montreal Bistro", featuring original compositions, with The Rosemary Galloway Quartet. The Jane Fair/ Rosemary Galloway Quintet has also recently released a second CD of original material entitled 'Playin' Jane'.
