Intellectual Property Fundamentals for Artist
We're pleased to present the Intellectual Property Fundamentals workshop with Jen Frankel Hurley.
Whether you're an artist, or attorney serving clients in creative professions, you will leave this 90-minute workshop with a better understanding of how to protect creative work.
Key points will include:
the law as it relates to your work the differences between copyrights, trademarks and patents copyright and trademark registration, including the benefits of registration and the costs, and who owns the copyright in a work created by more than one person and in works created in the course of employment. Bring your questions this is an excellent introductory seminar for all artists, and for attorneys whose clients include artists.
About our presenter:
Jen Frankel Hurley is Senior Corporate Counsel at T-Mobile supporting the company's marketing efforts. Prior to joining T-Mobile, Jen held the position of Associate General Counsel at Corbis Corporation where she advised the company in the areas of copyright, trademark, personality rights, entertainment law, licensing, marketing and digital rights. Prior to joining Corbis, Jen spent over five years at Starbucks Coffee Company in its intellectual property and commercial groups and she started her legal career at Davis Wright Tremaine. Jen received her JD from the University of Washington in 2000 where she graduated with high honors and was elected to the Order of the Coif. While Jen was in law school, she was appointed as the first Student Regent on the University of Washington's Board of Regents. In addition, she has a MLS from the University of Washington and her BA is in English from Swarthmore College where she graduated with high honors. Jen is a frequent speaker on intellectual property and marketing law.
