The Sinatra Centennial

To celebrate what would have been the 100th birthday of Frank Sinatra, the Kansas City Jazz Ambassadors (KCJA) is sponsoring a gala at the Uptown Theater, Kansas City, Missouri. The event will feature music from headliner Dave Stephens. The Jazz Ambassadors will take this occasion to honor Mayor Sly James as recipient of the 2015 Kansas City Jazz Ambassador of the Year award.

The Sinatra event will begin with a VIP cocktail hour and feature Italian crooner Frank Vigliaturo leading a sing-a-long of popular Rat Pack era tunes. Headliner Dave Stephens will take the stage at 8pm and dazzle the audience with his musical Sinatra retrospective. Frank Sinatra trivia, a buffet of Italian cuisine, and traditional birthday cake is included in this special evening.

This first fundraiser by the newly reorganized Jazz Ambassadors will raise funds to support the Kansas City Jazz Community. The mission of the 31-year-old nonprofit organization has historically been to promote Kansas City jazz, and raise funds to support Kansas City jazz musicians and initiatives, and support jazz education.
