ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
AMANDA BROOKE PERRIN Amanda has multiple comedy festivals under her belt including Just For Laughs, The Bridgetown Comedy Festival, JFL42, NXNE, The Women In Comedy Festival and Sled Island. Amanda was nominated for Best Stand Up Newcomer at the 2010 Canadian Comedy Awards and was most recently nominated for 2014's Best Breakout Artist and Best Audio Show for her podcast We're Doing It. Most recently, she won Best Female Stand Up in NOW magazine's Best Of T.O. Reader's Choice Awards. Her proudest achievement to date is moving out of her parents' house before her older brother did.
DAWN WHITWELL Curve Magazine called Dawn "one of the funniest lesbians", and her 'subversive, slacker-next-door wit' has garnered her plenty of critical praise. Dawn has been performing stand-up for 18 years, and has performed throughout Canada and abroad, including appearances at the Edinburgh Festival and at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. Dawn is a pioneer in the comedy world and has been credited with helping to push female comics into the spotlight. As a seasoned comedy pro, she shares what she's learned with others. Dawn founded and teaches COMEDY GIRL, an in-demand stand-up comedy class in Toronto, recently featured in the Globe and Mail.
JORY NASH Jory Nash is an award-winning singer-songwriter and storyteller who blends elements of folk, jazz, blues, pop & soul into an original stew of sound. He has recorded 8 critically acclaimed albums. In 2013 his album Little Pilgrim was nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award (CFMA) for Best Producer. His 2009 album New Blue Day was named Penguin Eggs Magazine Critic's Choice Album of the Year. Jory can be regularly heard on numerous CBC Radio programs, SiriusXM, BBC, Galaxie, and college/NPR stations across North America. Jory Nash has a hat collection that numbers in the hundreds and he is also a long-suffering fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
THE COINCIDENCE MEN The Coincidence Men" make things up for comedy improv audiences. TCM are Kerry Griffin, Rob Hawke, Ralph MacLeod, Gord Oxley and Marcel St. Pierre, all respected vets of Toronto's improv, sketch and comedy "scene". 2 of them are sometimes known as the sketch-comedy-Gemini-Award winning comedy duo "Fast n Dirty". 3 of them have been observed as shortform improv juggernaut "The Gee Spots". 3 of them were the founding alumni and creative force behind "The Bad Dog Theatre Company". 3 of them are Second City alum while the other 2 are known to run "The Social Capital Theatre". 100 years of collective improv experience between them, and a bunch of comedy awards and nominations. They do long form. They do shortform. They do shlongform. Audience laughter happens. But that is really just a coincidence.
