Second City's Tim Soszko: Improv Workshops
Creating the Vulnerable Character
Saturday February 6th: 11am-5pm
A series of exercises designed to not go for the funny, but instead the honesty of whatever character you're playing in that moment. No caricatures, one dimensional, or shallow characters allowed.
Relationship Driven Scenes
Sunday February 7th: 11am-5pm
My own personal philosophy (that I'm sure I stole from someone else) of creating a solid foundation for your character leading you to a solid relationship with your scene partner, and that relationship moves the scene forward. I don't care about the situation, or plot or structure. It's all about the connection with your scene partners.
Tim Soszko makes his living performing, writing, teaching and directing. He is currently meeting with different interested parties about selling his sketch comedy television pilot, that he wrote and stars in, called, "the tim&micah project." Tim tours with his sketch and improv groups, The Deltones, the tim&micah project, and Briko, all over the United States and Canada. He also teaches at Second City, IO Chicago, Columbia College, The Actors Training Center, Barrel of Monkeys, and Elmhurst Children's Theater, to name just a few places. Tim has been a producer for the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival for 10 years. He directs many sketch and improv groups, most notably, Deep Sea Swimwear and Unintentionally Hilarious. And finally, being an accomplished voice over actor, you've probably heard Tim's voice on many TV and radio commercials as well as video games. Tim loves his family and chocolate pudding.
