HAPPY ARMENIANS--Presented by California Stage and Vista Players
HAPPY ARMENIANS, the latest work by Elly Award-winning playwright and director Aram Kouyoumdjian, will have its Sacramento premiere in a joint production by California Stage and Vista Players that will feature the play's original L.A. cast.
A dramedy, HAPPY ARMENIANS tells a "parallel world" version of history in which Armenia has become a modern-day empire, upending the world order as we know it. Its king, however, has only 30 more days to live, and Levon, a blood relative, is the unexpected (and unwilling) heir to the throne, who must manage geopolitical crises a war against Switzerland, the colonization of Europe, and Africa's control of the global economy along with his budding love for a brilliant scientist named Siran.
