Romantasy Cabaret presents Speakeasy Sins~The Gin Joint's a-Jumpin
This 1920s, "Great Gatsby"-inspired masquerade ball features adult variety cabaret with old-time vaudeville, classic burlesque, high energy dance ensembles, jaw dropping aerial acts, comedic sketches, awe-inspiring fire performances, exotic bellydancers and more.
The doors open at 9:00 PM for reserved seating and a cocktail hour, with the cabaret kicking off at 10:00 PM.
Act One of the program features cabaret style variety acts, followed by an intermission where patrons can enjoyhigh energy dance music of the 1920s combined with today's modern hits. Act Two presents a racy and risqué set of performances showcasing strip-tease artists and burlesque acts hinting at a bygone era. To feel more a part of the speakeasy setting, attendees are encouraged to dress in their finest dapper and flapper attire with masquerade masks and of course, dancing shoes!
The evening climaxes at the countdown to midnight with a champagne toast alongside the cast and crew. Partiers are invited to stay and party with the cast and crew, and dance the night away to music provided by DJ "The Conductor".
Tickets for this unique New Year's Eve event are priced: VIP Reserved, $50; Premium Reserved Seating $35.
All VIP & Reserved seating ticket purchases include party favors, the champagne toast at midnight and the chance to win a grab bag stuffed with treats from show sponsor The Green Gurl, along with keepsakes from Romantasy Cabaret and various other novelties provided by local businesses. Raffle tickets will also be sold with a portion of the proceeds to be donated directly to Phoenix Rescue Mission (http://phoenixrescuemission.org/give/).
In 2008, Romantasy Cabaret won the New Times' Best of Phoenix award for Best Vaudeville Show. In 2011 the cast won runner up for Best Local Performing Art Troupe by East Valley Tribune and Best Performance Troupe by the City of Tempe for 2012 and 2013. The showgirls of Romantasy Cabaret, VaVaVoom won 2nd place for Best Performance, Group/Duo Category at the Albuquerque Burlesque and Sideshow Spectacular in 2012 and Best Group at the Arizona Burlesque Festival in 2015. Additionally, several cast members in the show are also title holders in the national burlesque scene.
The cast and crew have offered the same unique blend of cabaret-cum-vaudeville entertainment since 2007 and continue to grow each year in both size and talent. Expanding from an original cast and crew of about 14 to the present number of nearly 50, cast members create original choreographies, write their sketches, and create their costumes and props. Audiences have come to love that each show is fresh and unique and shows hearken back to the entertainment of yesteryear. Mizz Lucy Morals is the creative director of Romantasy Cabaret, the owner and director of Studio VaVaVoom in Tempe and the owner of Entertainment AZ.
Advance purchase of tickets is encouraged as this show is expected to sell out. There are absolutely no refunds for any reason nor can tickets be exchanged for a different show date.
