Time to start making plans for New Years Eve!
Each year this show sells out faster than the last, so you'll wanna jump on this one fast and snap up your tickets.
We're ringing in 2016 with one boot-stompin', flat-pickin', corn-liquorin' good time featuring Lancaster's bluegrass and Americana heroes, Vinegar Creek Constituency and Corty Byron Band, along with Second Hand Suits. And it's a special night for all three bands! (times are approximate and subject to change)
7pm - Second Hand Suits in the pub with a reunion show.
9pm - Vinegar Creek Constituency in the Temple.
9pm - DJ Salinger spinning the classic vinyl sounds in the Tigh Mhary pub for the rest of the night.
10:30pm - The Corty Byron Band in the Temple!
Just before midnight, all three bands will join together for a countdown to the New Year, then they'll perform one long encore together to take you into the wee hours of 2016.
Now THAT is the best way to usher in the new year!
Vinegar Creek Constituency
Vinegar Creek Constituency is back! Known for their multi-part harmonies, fast pickin', slick fiddlin', banjo and mandolin strummin' style, VCC consistently delivers a high-energy, boot-stompin' good time. If Vinegar Creek Constituency was a race horse, we'd bet on them every time.
Corty Byron Band
Guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Corty Byron has been active as a musician for over a decade. He released two solo projects (2011's Histrionic EP & 2010's Endless North),and will be releasing his brand new CD at this New Year's Eve party! He has opened for/performed with artists like Gregg Allman, The Doobie Brothers, Dave Mason, Bruce Hornsby, The Gin Blossoms, Blackberry Smoke, Hot Tuna, Jimmy Vivino. and has become a fixture on the Central Pennsylvania music scene, as well as being a seasoned road hound, gigging his way from Manhattan to Memphis, Austin to Vegas and all points in between. In late 2011 Corty relocated to Venice, CA, and spent the following year performing up and down the coast and across the state, including venues such as The Viper Room, House Of Blues and Saint Rocke. His style has shifted from swampy vintage rock and soulful acoustic based Americana to song driven psychedelic indie pop/rock.
Second Hand Suits
Second Hand Suits are a jazz, folk, and blues-rock band based in Lancaster, PA. Whether they are crooning a jazz standard or pounding out an original rock tune, Second Hand Suits bring an energetic yet classic feel to their music. This is best summarized in their band motto: vintage sounds for modern times. This is the full band back together for this special event.
Lead guitarist Jordan Rast and upright bassist Peter Reist both grew up listening to bluegrass and old time music, while guitarist Tuck Ryan came up in jazz standards and the theater. Jordan and Peter have known each other since childhood and have played off and on together over the years. Jordan met Tuck in 2010 and the two bonded over their shared love of gypsy jazz and bluegrass music. After Jordan released his latest solo album "Fractured Love" in November of 2012 (which featured band member Evan Graver on drums), all four musicians teamed up to perform the album live. They quickly realized they wanted to pursue additional styles and genres, and as a result Second Hand Suits was born.
Second Hand Suits lists many influences including Fats Waller, Muddy Waters, Django Reinhardt, Rihanna, and Ryan Adams. In addition to a large amount of original work, Second Hand Suits love to perform standards from every decade, the 1920's to the '70's. They bring their youthful enthusiasm to reworking these familiar tunes in new and interesting ways. Second Hand Suits are very excited to continue playing and sharing their music.
DJ Salinger
DJ Salinger is one of our resident DJ's, normally holding down the fort every Wednesday with his vinyl showcase, Wax on Wednesdays. He is also the host of our monthly Red Rose Soul Club. Each New Year's Eve he joins us with his incredible collection of music and will have you dancing into the wee hours of the morning.
