(mostly) TRUE THINGS storytelling slam at the Dickens Festival
n the spirit of the brilliant storyteller Charles Dickens, stories of holidays past and present will be part of this year's Charles Dickens Festival in Port Jefferson, NY, provided by a remarkable line-up of gifted, funny people with captivating tales of their own experiences and memories. Stories are a uniquely compelling form of entertainment, because they are windows into lives and worlds we might never otherwise know about. And they are often as hilarious as they are heartful.
(mostly) TRUE THINGS features true stories - with a twist - told live without notes. Each show is entirely unique, with completely new stories told by people from all walks of life. There is game that engages the entire audience. One storyteller tells the unvarnished truth, the other three change a few details that you might pick up by listening closely. The whole truth comes out by the end. There are prizes involved, if you can believe a thing like that.
KIDS UNDER TWELVE ARE FREE! Delicious free coffee (plus tea and water) and hot chocolate for the kids!
Host and creator Jude Treder-Wolff keeps the energy high and the audience is a ton of fun. These performances will be part of the Port Jefferson Dickens Festival which turns the entire village into an Edwardian holiday experience, with carolers, music, shows, and of course shopping. (mostly) TRUE THINGS supplies the stories and the price includes delicious coffee, tea and water.
