Alexandra, a liberal, successful, black woman, is sexually obsessed with her separated husband: a bigoted, homophobic cop, also black, who believes in segregation and considers racism acceptable. Their two sons become victims in Brooklyn's diversity because of these opposite ideas. Alexandra's best friend, Angelo: a white, gay, novelist from Rome, visits, forcing all to face their truths.
