The Holiday Scoop 2015 (by AAJA/SPJ)

It's that time again: Join your friends and colleagues for Seattle's biggest journalist party of the year, The Holiday Scoop 2015!

Our sixth annual party will bring together print, digital, television, visual and radio journalists of all ages. Let's celebrate the holidays and another year of great journalism in Washington state.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Student tickets are $10. Proceeds will benefit scholarships for students who aspire to become professional journalists.

At the Holiday Scoop, you'll also see prints for auction by local photojournalists. These sales support "Passion Projects" an event that will feature visual projects they're working on to illuminate a local issue or area of interest. Among the topics are environmental issues like coal, oil, pipelines and pollution and social issues such as the sex trade, immigration and hidden communities.

We'll also have a photo booth, so be prepared for your closeup!

NOTE: After 9 p.m., Fado Irish Pub becomes a 21 and older venue, so please plan ahead if you or anyone you are with is under age.

This event, started in 2010, is hosted by a partnership of the Seattle chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association and the Society of Professional Journalists of Western Washington.
