Hansel and Gretel
The Universal African Dance and Drum Ensemble and Camden Repertory Theater, have joined together again to bring literary magic to stage with original music and lyrics by Jamal P. Dickerson (Emmy and Milken Award Winner), electrifying choreography by Lamar Baylor (Lead Dancer in Broadway's The Lion King) and Director, Desi P. Seck.
Hansel and Gretel travel in the thick, dark forest and feel the abandonment of the siblings as they search for a place to soothe their hunger. When they get lost , They stumble across an African cottage that looks appetizing. They must use all of their powers of courage to save them from the scary old woman in the house made of candy...but it's not food that the evil witch desires.
