Lydia and Phil, Marylou Ferrante, The Hip Swayers, Cosmic Slim and the Intergalactic Plowboys!
Lydia and Phil are hosting a bunch of great Worcester area performers at John Henry's Hammer, including:
Mary Lou Ferrante, described by music critic and writer, Daniel Gewetz, in the Boston Herald, as "the Bay State's finest female acoustic blues interpreter".
The Hip Swayers, described in the San Francisco City Guide as "the harmonious duo of David Blodgett and Toni Ostrow...A bit of Hank Williams sensibility, Carter/Cash authenticity, and infectious personality".
Cosmic Slim and the Intergalactic Plowboys have been playing a great electric brand of music at the Blue Plate and elsewhere, featuring Tim Bowles on Pedal Steel Guitar, Bill Fisher on bass and vocals, Sten Gustovson on keyboards and vocals, Rick Levine on guitar and vocals, Phil Nigro on guitar and vocals and Bob Gordon on drums.
Lydia and Phil are Lydia Fortune and Phil Nigro have performing as a team and individually in Worcester and the region for 40 years. They made thier first CD called If I Had My Way in 2012.
